Oyster beds on the lake of Thau (Herault)

The lake of Thau is linked by a channel with the Mediterranean sea from which it is only separated by a narrow strip of land.
The water qualities of the lake are particularly favourable for the production of oysters which accounts for 10 % of the national production.
The oysters produced on the lake of Thau are recognizable for their particularly vigorous, and iodine taste .
