By introducing new grape varieties and production techniques, the wine growers of the Languedoc-Roussillon have managed to produce wines of great quality.

Food innovations are not solely of agricultural but may also be of industrial origin.

The industrial innovation tries to combine both mass production and local products by developing technologies that allow for large quantities of quality food to be produced which derive from well established traditions (cassoulet, cheeses...).
